Evng. Karen James

Karen James serves as an associate elder at the City of Grace alongside lead pastor Michael Young. Previously, she held the position of National Evangelist at The Higher Ground Always Abounding Assemblies under pastor Dr. Sherman S. Watkins, with Bishop T.D. Jakes serving as the Vice President.

Throughout her career, she has taken on various roles including Sunday school teacher, choir president, hospitality committee president, and founder of "For a Better Her," a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering women and mentoring at-risk young ladies aged 9-18.

Ms. James has completed her education at Faith Temple Bible School, HGAAA Bible College, and obtained a Nursing degree from Columbus School of Practical Nursing. She is an active member of the City of Grace ministerial alliance and has conducted extensive ministry work across the Ohio Prison Systems.

She was married to Marvin James Jr. for 43 years until he passed away. A loving mother to three sons - Marvin III (Yolanda), Maurice (Melinda), and Marquis (Caryn). Additionally, she cherishes her ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren dearly.

Karen James, an evangelist, deeply loves the Lord and appreciates all that God has done for her. She is aware that only her deeds for Christ will endure and hold significance in the end.
